A birthday present for the lovely Rose Baby (aka Sarah Carroll), who has tossed a number of cushions my way over the years (mostly at my head, but anyway).
Inspired by the beautiful log cabin cushions of Lisa Congdon (aka bird in the hand). To see just how much more in control of her work she is than I, you can check hers out here:
They're just to die for.
This isn't pieced, of course, piecing sends me into a total tizzy, I just used my usual technique of slamming fabric onto batted calico, that way a wonky line is no cause for self-mutilation, you can just sew something else over the top, and there are no nasty permanent scars, on either the cushions or the bathroom wall.
The zipper was a bit of a disaster, Linnet would want me to pull it out and do it again, but it works well enough, so hey, sue me.
