Sometimes, you just have to let something go in order for something else to happen.
This occurred to me as I walked into work yesterday morning after discovering that my pay was short, yet again, by 2 days. I was all ready to get Really Ugly but, in the end, rather than ninja punch every lolly box in the warehouse and reduce said Boss to a foetal position (if he was lucky), I simply quit. It was simple. I just couldn't take it any more.
Then, and only then, the Red Sea parted. By the end of the day, I had a job interview, thanks to an impressive sequence of events brought about by a number of friends who all turned out to know each other (you gotta love Melbourne). As of (checks watch) 3 minutes ago, I have a New Job. A nice one, where I can sit down or stand up as I see fit, and where I get paid reliably (and rather well) by people who actually value my input.
Apparently such a thing exists. Who knew?
Shula is now Plant Woman. Native Plant Woman, to be precise. Thousands and thousands of them. She'll be involved (administratively) in reforesting THE WHOLE WORLD with plants indigenous to the area.
Well, Melbourne anyway... but who knows?
A worthy cause, indeed.
She sends her heartfelt gratitude to the various people who pulled together to make this happen. They know who they are, and how much I love them.
There'll be plenty of spare time for embroidery and blogging.
I promise.
And now, if you'll excuse me, I have a tutorial to work on. I'm totally running with Jodie's idea, just to see what happens.
